Could you make a difference?
Governors and Trustees are volunteers who offer strategic guidance to schools and academy trusts; asking questions and providing challenge and support to the senior leadership team.
Trustees and Governors are not operational; instead, they offer suggestions and provide oversight on the school’s strategic direction, budgets, and the decisions of school leaders, rather than taking day-to-day decisions themselves.
Usually, a Governor or Trustee serves a four-year term of office and all appointments are subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Volunteering as a school Governor or Trustee is public service, the same as jury duty; so, your employer should allow you time off to undertake your role.
If you have time to dedicate attending around five meetings a year; completing online training; and, visiting the school, we’d love to hear from you! Please complete the form below and we’ll be in touch. Thank you.
